The Red Deer U12B Gary Moe Auto Group Rampage ended their season by going undefeated at provincials this past weekend in Medicine Hat. They opened the tournament with a dominating 18-1 thumping of Ft. McMurray. In their second game, they defeated Calgary Bow View 8-5 and then wrapped up the round-robin with a 12-1 pounding of Medicine Hat. In the semi final, it was again a one sided affair, defeating Cochrane 13-4. In the final, they faced St. Albert who was also undefeated, but the Rampage again proved the superior team, winning 7-3 and capturing the gold medal. Fantastic year Rampage!

The Red Deer U12A Communications Group Heat had a great provincial tournament this past weekend in Calgary, bringing home the silver medal. They opened the tournament with a strong 7-5 victory over Medicine Hat. In game two, they defeated St. Albert in a hard fought 4-3 game. To close off the round-robin, they got the better of South Calgary with a 7-3 win to go undefeated. In the semis, they had to face North West Calgary, and dominated the game winning 10-2. For the final game, they once again faced St. Albert and after a very close back-and-forth game, they just fell short losing 5-3. Congratulations on a great year Heat!

The Red Deer GrandCentral Stichin' U14B Rush won Provincial Bronze this past weekend in St. Albert. The Rush finished the round robin at 3-0 defeating Brooks Synergy 6-3, Drayton Valley Ring Bandits 12-5 and Edmonton Jagger 11-2. Scoring for Red Deer against Brooks was Kallie Loewen with 3 goals, Lizzie Cindict with 2 goals and Hayley Nieth with 1 goal. Against Drayton Valley, Lizzie Cundict lead the way with 4 goals, Kallie Loewen had 3 goals, Charlotte Janes scored 2 goals and adding singles were Macy Lokos, Tori Hoppus and Hayley Nieth. Against Edmonton, Loewen lead the way with 3 goals and scoring 2 goals each was Lizzie Cundict, Hayley Nieth and Charlotte Janes while Macy Lokos and Tori Hoppus added singles. During the Semi-Final, the Rush lost 8-7. Scoring for the Rush were Lizzie Cundict with 3 goals and adding singles, were Hayley Nieth, Charlotte Janes, Megan Taylor and Macy Lokos. In the Bronze Medal game behind a stellar performance from Isabelle Rabbit in goal, the Rush defeated Brooks 12-6. Leading the way was Lizzie Cundict with 4 goals, Kallie Loewen with 3 goals, Charlotte Janes with 2 goals and adding singles were Hayley Nieth, Megan Taylor and Macy Lokos.

The Red Deer Investors Group Jets finished off a great 2011-12 season by winning gold at the U12 C Provincial Championships held in Beaumont, March 9-11. The girls went 3-0 through the round robin beating Bowview Sonic Boom 9-0, St. Albert Sugar Storm 6-1 and the Beaumont Ring Rockers 8-3. Erin Musselman opened the tournament up with a shutout in the game against Bowview with 2 goals coming from Sydney Isbister, Catherine Sovdi and Stephanie Lucas as well as Celine Liekiem, Grace Heidinger and Brooklyn Twidale adding singles. Against St. Albert it was singles from Erin Musselman, Celine Liekiem, Haley Popowitch, Brooklyn Twidale, Kaitlyn Glover and Catherine Sovdi. Against the host team Celine Liekiem led the way with 3, Brooklyn Twidale had 2 and singles from Stephanie Lucas, Kaitlyn Glover and Grace Heidinger. The Jets wound up in the semi-final against the Red Deer Wild coming out on top 9-2. Catherine Sovdi led the way with five goals in the semi with Sydney Isbister and Brooklyn Twidale adding 2 each. The final saw the Jets going up against a determined home team in the Beaumont Ring Rockers. The Rockers held the lead early in the 2nd period until 14:26 when Sydney Isbister tied it at 6. Kaitlyn Glover scored 3 minutes later to give the Jets a lead they would not relinquish on their way to a 12-8 victory and back to back Provincial Championships for Red Deer. The scoring consisted of 3 goals from Brooklyn Twidale and Sydney Isbister, 2 from Catherine Sovdi and Kaitlyn Glover and singles from Erin Musselman and Erica Greenshields. Thanks for a great season girls!!!

The Red Deer State Farm U 14A Revenge win Gold!! at the U14A Provincial Championships over this past weekend in Red Deer. The Revenge finished Round Robin Play at 3-0 getting wins over South Calgary Vaara 5-4, Edmonton Nova 8-1, and Medicine Hat Havoc 5-4 . Against Vaara the Revenge got goals from Kaylee Domoney and Isabel St. Pierre, both with two and Shannel Holtz with one. Against Nova scoring for the Revenge was Mackenzie Lindholm with four, Domoney with two and Holtz and St. Pierre one a piece, against the Havoc scoring for the Revenge was Domoney and Lindholm with two a piece and Holtz with one. The Revenge then meet up with the Strathmore Ice Fusion in the Semi-Final and pulled out a 9-8 win sending them to the Gold Medal Final. Scoring was Lindholm with four, Hayley Lalor with two and St. Pierre,Domoney,and Holtz with one a piece. The Gold Medal Final was against the Beaumont Bazzang and the Revenge came out with a 5-2 win to capture the Provincial title. Scoring for the Revenge was Domoney with three, two of those coming :19 seconds apart in the second half and Keesha Fairbrother and Holtz with one a piece. The Revenge only lost two games all season long on their way to the Provincial title.

Red Deer Ringette is recruiting for refs for the upcoming 2012-2013 season. Minimum age is 14 and we encourage parents to join us as certified refs.
The association pays for the cost of certification and first jerseys.
Pay range from $16 - $27 per game depending on level of game.
Clinics are normally held in October and run 8 hrs. Includes classroom and ice sessions.
